Buying Guide (U.S.) – Placement & Spacing

• Beside a bathroom mirror: Mount a pair at eye level on both sides for balanced face lighting.
• Bedside wall light: Install slightly above shoulder height when seated, so the glow feels comfortable for reading.
• Hallway and entry: Keep spacing consistent down a corridor for a clean, gallery-like rhythm.
• Vertical vs. horizontal: Vertical reads taller and sharper, horizontal feels wider and calmer over consoles or artwork.

Bathroom (vanity mirror sides)

• Center height: 60–66 in AFF
• Rule: Keep the sconce center roughly at eye level and align both sides evenly.
• If ceilings are tall: You can push to 68 in for better proportion.

Bedroom (bedside)

• Center height: 50–60 in AFF
• Reading-friendly rule: Place so the light source sits 6–10 in above your seated shoulder height on the bed.
• If installing above nightstands: Keep the bottom edge high enough to avoid glare when lying down.

Hallway / Corridor

• Center height: 62–68 in AFF
• Rule: For multiple sconces, keep all centers consistent for a clean rhythm.
• f the hallway is narrow: Stay closer to 62–64 in to reduce glare.

Foyer / Entryway

• Center height: 66–72 in AFF
• Rule: In taller entries, slightly higher mounting looks more proportional and keeps sightlines open.

Staircase (along the wall)

• Center height: 60–66 in measured from the stair nosing line (follow the slope)
• Rule: Maintain consistent spacing along the run so the sconces read as one line.

Living Room (accent, art, or wall wash)

• Center height: 60–72 in AFF
• Over a console table: Aim for 10–14 in above the tabletop to keep the glow in the visual zone.

Dining Room

• Center height: 60–70 in AFF
• Rule: Place higher if you want ambient glow, lower if highlighting artwork or a feature wall.

Horizontal installation (special note)

If you mount Kesty horizontally:

• Over a console/art: set the center at 60–66 in AFF, or align with the artwork’s midline.
• As a vanity bar (if used that way): place above the mirror with the bottom edge comfortably above the mirror frame.
