Use your island or table length as the main guide, then check ceiling height.

Choose your length

• 35.43" (90 cm): Works well over 4-seat islands or tables around 48"–60" long. Good for apartments, condos, or smaller kitchens where you want strong task light without overwhelming the space.
• 47.24" (120 cm): Suits 4–6 seat islands or tables around 60"–78" long. This is a versatile size for many standard U.S. kitchens and dining rooms.
  
• 59.06" (150 cm): Best for larger 6–8 seat islands or dining tables around 78"–96" long. Also fits long peninsulas and double islands when you want the light to run nearly the full span.

A simple rule many designers use: choose a fixture around 60–75% of the island or table length so there is still a small margin at each end.

Hanging height tips

• Over a kitchen island or counter : Keep the bottom of the fixture around 30"–34" above the countertop. For very tall family members or heavy prep use, lean closer to 34".
  
• Over a dining table: Aim for 30"–32" above the tabletop so the light feels intimate but does not block views across the table.

Ceiling height guidance:

• 8 ft ceilings – shorten the wires so the fixture hangs a little tighter to the ceiling, following the clearances above.
• 9–10 ft ceilings – use more of the suspension length to keep the light within eye level while still above sightlines.
• Sloped ceilings – the dual suspension points and central cord allow the body to hang level while the canopy follows the slope.

Room Placement Ideas:

• Kitchen island – Center the Fenlo along the island length for even light where you chop, cook, and gather. The continuous LED line reduces shadows on the work surface.
• Dining room – Hang over a wood or stone dining table for a warm “restaurant” feel in the evenings, especially with the 3000K or remote-dimmable option.
• Breakfast nook or bar – Use the 35.43" or 47.24" length over a narrow table or bar counter for clean task lighting without multiple fixtures.
• Home office or studio table – Mount above a long desk or workbench for bright, uniform task light in the 6000K setting.
• Cafe or restaurant projects – Line up multiple Fenlo fixtures over several tables or a long bar to keep the design consistent across the room.
